How do I achieve a balanced plant-based diet?

As nutritional requirements are unique to each of us, depending on our age, gender, lifestyle, and health status, you may personally need to focus on certain macro- (carbohydrate, fat and protein) or micronutrients (vitamins and minerals) to achieve optimal wellbeing. 

For this reason, as well as to ensure adequate intake of the nutrients of special interest mentioned above, the Dietitians Association of Australia recommends that if you are “currently following a vegan diet, or you are considering changing to a vegan diet, it is a good idea to consult with an Accredited Practicing Dietitian with special interest in the area … [to help] ensure you are receiving adequate nutrition to maintain good health”.
